Working at Haddad Brands was the most toxic experiences of my adult career.
This company is filled with micro-aggressions, including from the top executives in the company. There was an instance I witnessed where an individual was humiliated by one of the leaders of the company, where a person was publicly outed during a meeting in front of 60+ co-workers, and according to them HR did nothing. This is a company that is run on a set of conservative, old-world values and i highly recommend reconsidering if you are marginalized looking at a job there.
middle management functions with with ridiculously high expectations, repeated temper flareups, and shunning/ ‘silent treatment’ randomly used as punishment. There was pressure answer personal texts after hours, and instances of retaliation against people for this reason. The communication is very poor and when mistakes would arise due to lack of communicating important information, like deadlines, middle management will punish and shame you instead of telling you how to fix it or taking accountability. Beyond this, inappropriate comments are routinely made about race, gender, and sexuality. There are several managers I interacted with on my team who had very bad tempers that they had trouble controlling. They would also tell their friends on other teams when they were upset with with their direct reports, creating a band of 4-5 people who would stop speaking to that person for intermittent periods of time.
I have never had such tumult on a team before or since, and unfortunately this company environment breeds discontent and bitterness and upper management has little concern for their employees beyond the bottom line.
