Pros

The products that they sell are nice and of good quality and you get 40% off discount for being an employee. There are not many advantages to working for hallmark except for the interaction with the employees, the friendly ones of course. You also get to see products before they are available to the general public and you know what products are going to be available in the future. You also get a 25% discount off chocolates for being an employee. As well, there are many opportunities to become a key holder and to open and close the store, particularly on weekends.

Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Hallmark are the many products that are constantly being updated, lots of stock, extremely busy at certain times, constant rearrangement of products, rude customers, constant push to rip off customer in any way possible. Hallmark Rule #1 do not let the customer know about sales, but rather try everything possible to sell them something they don't need. You must always tell the customers about the useless promotions, for example a snowman that sings for christmas etc., even when they are not interested and brush you off immediately. Nothing is ever completed well enough.
