Pros

There are good opportunities for growth. Benefits are good too.

Cons

- There is no good training about the billing software. - Extreme work load and managers push you to take load of outstanding work from previous years all the time, when you didn't even join -no over time is given for extra work.

It systems are sufficient and utilized well Not much else

Cons

Salaries are well below market. Overtime is expected with no extra pay No training Management team is young and inexperienced No hiring and promotion standards

Pros

Good working culture and values. Well organized project management and remote support for the clients. Strong on-boarding. Nice location, benefits and career opportunities.

Cons

More detailed and up-to-date documentation and training required for support as the software is pretty complex. Internal technical writer position might resolve the issue.

Pros

Good place if you're just starting in your career, decent vacation, some opportunities for growth, and remote work possible.

Cons

Underpaid but expected to work overtime with minimal benefits. Employees opinions don't matter at the end of the day, lots of internal politics, and no such thing as career development or additional training.

Okay on surface, but rotten at the core

Pros

Okay benefits including RRSP matching, option to work remote, friendly co-workers, lots of work available, plenty of travel opportunities. That's what you will be told, and it's true on the surface. If you look a little deeper you will see the reality.

Cons

Benefits aren't the best I've seen, RRSP matching is taken off your annual bonus, option to work remote includes lower salary, co-workers often too friendly, expected to work lots, and lots of unpaid overtime. Sent to remote client sites with no real training and expected to "figure it out." The leader of a sexual harassment seminar said "it's not sexual harassment if the other party enjoys it." That pretty much sums up their attitude on the issue. You will have to fight for any sort of raise beyond the cost of living increases. Work with outdated technology (depending on department) and the education bonus they provide assumes you are using your holiday time (starts at 2 weeks - max 5 after 7 years) for this purpose.

Pros

The business unit I belong to is great! I enjoy working with the people in our office more than i would enjoy a conglomerate. Please do not change that. Training is good. I find that it is always challenging training a highly configurable product.

Cons

Harris is an investment company first and foremost. From what I can tell, investing is at the core of its identity. That is not a con per se. But paying 401k in lump sum per year is, as that is one of the most prominent investment instruments of employees. Think of all the lost dividends and reinvestment opportunity! I can't substantiate this with data, but it seems a little slow to deposit my 401k withholding as well. (Someone else might be getting some of my dividends?) Salary is below our local market. In fairness, it is close enough to factor in the other positives as making it worthwhile. Bonus is touted, but not worth deciding to stay or go over.

Pros

My business unit has autonomy and is generally able to make decisions that we know will benefit our clients the most. The employee benefits are good and there are nice things like Lifestyle Rewards that are easy to utilize. Considering the number of remote employees, I think Harris does exceptionally well with managing HR related functions.

Cons

Nothing major sticks out. I'm very happy at Harris. An employee training conference would be cool :)

Pros

- Business units have a lot of flexibility - Harris management isn't disconnected. They're there to help us and are interested in what we do (in addition to our financial numbers) - Everyone is held accountable - Success is shared - Jeff Bender puts more focus on growth in addition to EBITDA, which will help with the creation of organic long term value - Good training opportunities - Good summits held to meet other business units, share our knowledge and find synergies - Good salary and insurance plan - Good work-life balance

Cons

Not much negative to say. It's feasible but more difficult to implement a SaaS oriented pricing model (even if it sometimes has the highest EVA) as this has an impact on the shorter term revenue and year-end numbers.
