Pros

-People -Salary -Stipend to cover therapy costs

Cons

This company takes advantage of your love for mental health and spits it right back to your face. It destroyed my mental health. The majority of the employees act and look like zombies because they all realize they are stuck in a toxic environment that quickly discards people they either don’t like or who dares to share their opinions. The amount of people I saw “disappear” without an official announcement, especially after several weeks in the role, was ridiculous. The purpose of the product is great but the top managers and exec are too stuck in la la land to admit that they were 1.) wrong and 2.) took on more than they can handle. The result? Endless product/company mistakes, angry customers/therapists who take it out on the CX/Growth teams, and zombie employees who have to work extreme hours per day to clean up these messes. If you are debating whether to choose Headway or a job offer at another company, please just pick the other company. Because if you pick Headway, you will just regret it instantly or they will discard you like you are nothing because you are not a “culture fit” aka drinking the kool aid of the CEO and how great Headway is. News flash: this place is awful, full of white bros at the top, favoritism, and so much toxic positivity.

Pros

(disclaimer: I will not say if I am a current or former employee out of fear of retaliation) 1. Some of the coworkers are nice. But mostly it is very cliquey. 2. We get to work from home. 3. There are a few gems in management, but they were only promoted to "team leads." 4. I will give them that the civil action lawsuit against them is actually bogus.

Cons

1. If you did not know what gaslighting was before this role, you will learn very quickly. 2. They manipulate the numbers. A team member recently called them out during a meeting and said, "Who are these rockstar PGAs who are hitting these numbers? I don't think I've ever created 70 opps in a month." Leadership did not address this. They would rather give a "quota multiplier" month-over-month (which is nice), but why not just adjust the quota so the team is not CONSTANTLY stressed. 3. There are no fewer than three factors to our quota. Except if you excel in referral generation, it won't actually add to your attainment number. BUT if you fail to hit that number you will have a "conversation" about it. 4. This role encompasses about 50 jobs in one: sales, onboarding, implementation, and now, for some reason, CX (Customer Experience)... 5. You will have so many internal meetings. You have no fewer than two 1:1s per week. 6. PIPs (Performance Improvement Plans) are handed out like confetti falling from the sky. YES, the guidelines for being on a PIP are laid out and hammered into our heads, but it is too easy to get on a PIP because SO MUCH of our quota is out of our control. SO MUCH. 7. They take no feedback from employees unless it is about "more outside team building activities, i.e., drinking." 8. THE CEO once said (in reference to the CARTA CEO's sexual harassment accusation) that there are "two sides to every story" in an ALL HANDS meeting. They are friends... 9. The entire company is all smoke and mirrors. They are just positioning themselves to go public so the YT men at the top can pad their pockets, all while preaching "diversity." 10. Your mental health does not matter at this mental health company, and I know they will come on here and respond "but you get free therapy." The only thing we would be discussing is the toll this role takes on our mental health. 11. We were sold an inbound role... it is not an inbound role. 12. PGMs (Provider Growth Managers) have ZERO clue what the day-to-day is like for a PGA, except the few Team Leads that actually had to work the role. 13, They encourage you "but you are not required to open up your calendar" to work on Holidays, Saturdays and Sundays to hit your quota. 14. Unless you drink the Kool-Aid and kiss the rings of the upper line... you won't last long. 15. "Compensation is competitive".... Where? Competing against my bills??

Pros

Higher than average pay, great product/mission, room for upward growth

Cons

Metrics have been continuously raised to a point where they are no longer realistic or possible. We are told that there’s data showing it’s possible to hit these high goals, meanwhile everyone I’ve spoken to is falling behind and feeling extremely anxious on a day to day. Higher ups have made it clear that the value is placed on quantity over quality, and yet you get dinged for quality issues as well. Middle management is never aligned on current practices, which is understandable because they change from week to week, making it very difficult to keep up. Every second of your day is tracked through a surveillance app, which you have to update on your own time to avoid falling behind on solve goals. Headway prides itself on a culture of feedback, but have not listened to any concerns that have been raised about excessively high solve goals. Having high goals and expecting every single CXA to meet 100% of that goal week after week is unrealistic and extremely taxing. Ironically, working for this mental healthcare company has caused my mental health to plummet. What started off as a really cool company has quickly become a numbers-driven nightmare.
