Pros

Co-workers care about doing a good job and taking care of members. Middle management supports their staff. Middle management does not micromanage.

Cons

Acquired by Centene who has been making various changes. Changes in process before adequate staff and training has been acquired. They have an old school type of culture. Benefits have been significantly cut. Expensive health benefits. No HMO option. PTO cut. Company does not believe in telecommuting which will make it extremely difficult to find nurses in California as HN pay has never been competitive with Hospital system Case Managers. Main draw to the job is the telecommuting. Staff are never included when process changes are implemented. Very minimal room for advancement.

Cons

Too much favoritism in the work place. People are promoted not by skills but by who hangs out with the boss. issues with dress codes and company rules--these are in writing, but not adhered to. No accountability.

Nice people, decent pay and good benefits.

Cons

Very low level of professionalism at all levels. Employees don't face consequences for obvious violations of policies. Beneficiaries are left to suffer at the hands of incompetent employees. Training is poor and trainers operate as powerpoint readers.
