Beware of the executive team and the sales pitch on culture

Pros

Some awesome co-workers. Work life balance (dependent on manager though)

Cons

401(k) program No merit increases for 2020 due to budget concerns during COVID. BUT they have bought 4 companies just this year. They gave a small bonus to keep the disgruntled employees quiet. No upward mobility. Compensation is a joke. The pay for amazing employees is so low. If you’re not an exec fav-good luck! The execs want to run this company however they feel. They do not take employees into consideration. They are so lucky there are great employees and some managers that drive the culture they boast about but do not practice. The CEO is so disconnected to the regular employee. He told the company in a town hall that the 401(k) is a perk and we should be appreciative of the pathetic discretionary match. ITS OUR RETIREMENT NOT A PERK. The execs put those in leadership roles that they know will be puppets and won’t make waves or ask questions to make the company better.

Pros

Friendly, kind and helpful co-workers that generally create a workplace you want to come to each day, some departments promote employees quickly, partial remote work for many roles, meaningful values

Cons

Benefits are greatly lacking for a tech company that considers themselves to be progressive-ONE week of paid maternity leave, substandard PTO policy starting at 3 weeks, 401k match decided upon annually based on company performance, lagging compensation for many positions, minimal opportunity for career development depending on department, lack of diversity on leadership team-all white males except for one female and it feels like this drives many decisions surrounding culture. It seems like a lot of employees leave for higher pay elsewhere, which should be a sign. Recently the CEO asked employees to provide feedback on the company on a Glassdoor competitor site called Comparably (which no one really uses) in lieu of an employee engagement survey and challenged 500 employees to participate. This is an inappropriate request to me on so many levels and doesn't seem like a way to garner true feedback but rather the CEO pandering for feedback praising him and the company. It seems like he is out of touch and did not think this through at all, which is disappointing.

Pros

The CEO is a likable guy who seems to genuinely believe in the company's mission.

Cons

Unfortunately, CEO has surrounded himself with self-promoting "leaders" at the highest level who insulate him from the truth while leading the culture into one of mistrust and toxic behaviors.
