Pros

Schedule flexibility and clinic hours were the only pros.

Cons

Being told that we are to work harder to make sure upper management gets their bonus and raises. All the while the employees in clinic are barely paid a living wage and upper management boasted about offering 4% raises to everyone, which equals less than .50 an hour. The gold standard quality of care is sometimes sacrificed to meet labor goals and weekly metrics. If you are a hospital manager, you will attend no less than 5-6 hours of meetings weekly to discuss how you can improve the clinic profit margins. Overall displeased with the care and attention from upper management to truly understand the demands of working in clinic. The company was founded by veterinarians that no longer practice and are out of touch with how a well-balanced clinic should operate.

Pros

The pay is the highest in my area and the benefits are okay.

Cons

Management picks favorites and then treats others poorly and micromanages them if they're not friends. When complaints are made to HR, nothing is taken seriously and nothing changes. Management is unprofessional and speaks poorly of some employees around other staff members and has no respect for mental health concerns. People fear speaking out because they think they'll get fired or treated even worse. Staffing is limited, especially at the front desk. Sometimes only one person is scheduled at a time with multiple doctors seeing appointments and doing surgery and phones ringing like crazy (when the previous owner before the Heart+Paw purchase would have had 3 to 4 staff members at the front desk at a time so there was less burn out and, most importantly, less mistakes were being made because they weren't pulled in so many directions at once).
