Pros

Great Benefits Decent Salary Location

Cons

Toxic Environment!! Profits off of the pain of the clients! Gets client with the most severe mental illnesses to get the highest return to purchase property with their social security. Worst management ever. High school environment. Extremely high turnover. Misuses clients money. Does not provide good services to the client. Manipulates laws to abuse clients resources and to cover up abuses of clients. On call 24 hours a day and there were always fires to be put out. When calculating the salary divide it by 14 hour work days. Clients constantly eloped because the place felt like a prison.

Pros

Working with the families was great. Taking care of and getting to know the people was lovely.

Cons

Got almost no hours and very little pay for the work I did. It was pretty demanding work as well, so I felt like I was doing so much for so little appreciation. One of my clients felt as if I should be deep cleaning her house every day, when we were specifically told that wasn’t our job, light cleaning only, and she requested a new home help aid, so I lost all my hours with her after being in her home daily and helping her with so much. After that, I was working like, 10 hours a week max because clients are only allowed so many hours of care and I was starving to death. Barely able to take care of myself while trying to help take care of other people as well is not at all ideal. I also had to wait several weeks after being hired before they gave me any hours at all to begin with.

Thank you for your review, it is always fantastic to hear such great feedback about working with our clients. I am sorry to hear you had a negative experience. Help at home works hard to meet or exceed industry standards for compensation and it is something that is reviewed regularly but also depends on Medicaid reimbursement rates. In areas where our wages aren’t as high as we would like, we try to offer additional benefits like greater flexibility or paid time off. We appreciate your comment and if you have any additional feedback please email us at info@helpathome.com.
