Pros

Benefit options are okay, but nothing stellar. Still nice to have things like Healthcare and such with the job.

Cons

The decisions they make for their properties (or at least the one I work under) are completely off the mark for what the individual establishment needs, and it becomes a detriment to employees, guests, and the property itself. One begins to question if it's intentional sabotage or not. They cut budgets while enforcing stupid fees that only harm the hotel's reputation and service - for example, they enforce a $12 parking fee for a hotel that doesn't have any security, cameras, or additional service for its parking lot. On the flip side, they don't provide sufficient funds for a sufficient complimentary breakfast (I believe it's $3 per person when the average is closer to $5-$6), and they've even cut hours to the point Front Desk department employees must now do Breakfast Attendant, Houseman, and Laundry responsibilities, and I'm fairly certain the same can be said for other departments doing other responsibilities. This shatters employee morale, and with strict hour tracking combined with the chaos that is hotel occupancy and starting wages being state minimums, many employees wanna leave as early as one week into the job.

Pros

The old brand was magnificent Highgate is terrible

Cons

This place is a trap. Highgate took over a cute boutique hotel and changed everything that made the property authentic. HR and GM are only there to make money and do not care for their employees at all. If you take a legitimate issue to HR or GM they will slowly ice you out and silent fire you with no explanation because you are an “at will” employee. Understaffed, extremely busy with only business guest, inconsistent outlet hours, over work and underpaid. Hotel is currently in transition to being union because highgate came in and did not appreciate the quality of their employees. They want to get out the old and bring in button pushers for cheap. Not a way to run a business. No hate strictly honestly.
