A Company Full of Opportunity

Pros

I worked in the Corporate office for many years and had an amazing experience. For those employees that are hard working, instinctive and innovative, the company offers no ceilings and many opportunities. I was very rarely told no when I had a new idea or wanted to try a different way of doing things. I felt valued and inspired to do my best work. I left only when presented with an incredible, one-of-a-kind opportunity.

Cons

No company is perfect and with any job you have to pick your poison. It is a lean company in general which puts an unfair burden on employees during tough times. However, the flip side of that is that "lean" requires no layoffs during those same tough times. They try to pick great employees, then stick with them. The company definitely has a strong corporate culture, so it is important to fully understand the culture before joining so that you can determine if you are a good fit.

Pros

Have a multiple of locations to work at. If you luckly enough to works at a property with a good GM, he can shield the staff from the corporate office. They do represent some high quality brands.

Cons

The corporate office has no social skills. They continually talk down to managers. They have the feeling as if they are god almightly and everyone should be at their beckon call no mater what time of day or night. It's like their all on an ego trip. The true owners need to see how their team treats people, perhaps they really don't care.

Small company with large company expectations

Pros

The company has made some HR changes and seems to be fairly organized now. They definitely love their reports and spreadsheets, so information is always accessible, even after job turnover. They have made strides in the past few years with some of the corporate level positions, but need to still make changes in some areas to be more effective.

Cons

Almost all levels of employees; from corporate down to property level, seem to think it's acceptable to treat employees with little to no respect. Work/ Life balance is definitely not a focus with this company; expect long hours and 6 or 7 day work weeks in some positions. Yearly employee surveys are not acted upon nor treated very seriously. Upper management tends to take an act first, ask questions later philosophy.
