Such a Sad Decline

Pros

The people you work with on a daily basis are great, the company does not do mass layoffs, and you can explore different roles if you play the corporate game well.

Cons

Hilti has shifted from a flexible business model to a more rigid structure. The extensive use of Salesforce is diverting attention from customers, prioritizing data over actual sales. This change is causing long-term employees to leave, as the new culture of micromanagement contradicts the company’s “family” ethos. Despite promoting the productivity story to our customers, the reliance on Salesforce is hindering the efficiency of account managers.

Sad what Hilti has become

Work vehicle, decent health and 401k benefits

Cons

Pay is low by industry standards. Pay maxes out at most 5% a year and is nearly impossible to hit. Everyone on the field sales team, account managers, engineers, regional managers, are leaving left and right. The truth is the new management team only cares about Salesforce metrics which is hilarious because they are all fake. If 100 client interactions are required, guess what, 100 will be logged on the dot every month regardless. Same with leads and opportunities, just fake data to get your boss off your back. Hilti used to be an awesome company to work for but they over leveraged themselves on their CRM (Salesforce) and now everyone is forced to use it to the point where all the data is meaningless and you feel constantly micromanaged for the sake of keeping someone’s boss happy. I’d say the change happened in 2023 and now all the old experienced sales personnel are gone. No one is happy on the sales side which is the life of the company.

Pros

Hilti manufactures good products, really wants to make the construction world better, and has wonderful people. The benefits are very good and the company is long term vision focused.

Cons

-Workload -Constantly changing priorities -Compensation is mediocre and falling further behind -Processes/people that get in the way of progress -Competition is out-innovating
