      Perfected inefficiency - Medicare products at the customer's mercy!

      Pros

      Salaries slightly below par, health insurance benefits below par (go figure), good place to learn how to appreciate a company that really cares for its customers vs considering them a necessary evil. Financials are catching up with practices.

      Cons

      Management drinks the kool-aid on the backs of subordinates. They have their agenda and all feedback is from the top down - any feedback from the bottom up is treated as ignorance of the"Humana way". The Humana way is dying a 40-50 year old life insurance company paradigm, micromanaged with countless million dollar IT projects to document your the employee vs measure the company's ability to adapt to market changes, which they can't.

      the moral at Humana is low. Managers and sups do not care about their employees.

      Pros

      There really are not any good reasons to work for Humana. I have a new job that pays more and the atmosphere is much better.

      Cons

      The call center has a high turnover rate, therefore, the customer service representatives have to take more calls, which burns you out. Also, they keep adding more work and don't want to give you a raise.

      Pros

      Supervisors and company care about the development and engagement of their workforce. Jobs often have autonomy, various duties reducing repetitiveness, and meaningful work. Challenging but often rewarding through various ways including recognition and a possibility of a monetary bonus/award for outstanding accomplishments. Large organization - opportunities for lateral or upward positions.

      Cons

      Sometimes stressful but this also contributes to pride in accomplishments.
