Pros

Working for Virgin Hyperloop has been a really incredible experience. It's hard to not be excited about the technology we are working on and the massive impact it'll have on the world in so many ways. You learn so much at a start up since we're all wearing multiple hats, owning projects from start to finish, and the collaborative culture sets us up to learn from other employees who are coming from such different backgrounds in various industries. I love the people here, everyone is smart and most importantly, easy and enjoyable to work with. I think they do a great job selecting well-rounded people to join us and not just the "smartest". They've done a great job during Covid keeping people as connected as possible with weekly All Hands meetings for company updates and we use Slack which makes it easy to quickly communicate with people. really excited to get back to the office though!

Cons

Lots of ambiguity since we're still in "early"-ish stages but it gives us all the opportunity to help create structure and processes. Lots of moving parts and sometimes hard to keep track of what the latest priorities are

Great Company

Pros

-Surrounded by talented and motivated people. -Awesome company vision: making an exciting new form of mass transportation. -Good work/life balance for a start-up. -Company is quickly growing which gives interesting career opportunities. -Friendly culture. -Delicious free lunch daily. -Pre-IPO stock options.

Cons

-Fast paced and agile management style means there can be lots of scope change on projects. Requires lots of adaptability. May not be the right environment for everyone. -Due to being a start-up, there is risk with the company. It is mitigated through being part of the Virgin Group, and having wealthy investors, but risk will always remain for start-ups before they have income from products or other assets.

Pros

Opportunity to build a one off and the first Hyperloop in the world. Allot of good people, just not in the correct position World changing concept Company lunch (a bit expensive) Team building events (costly for a start up) Compensation was good for hourly employees, salary was good but excessive hours. I am privileged to have been able to be involved in all aspects of building Devloop, training teams, working with engineers, teaching new engineers, working through construction issues, apart of build team,

Cons

•To much space x culture •No advancement •Company places high value on a degree vs job expirence, which cost us Devloop deadline and millions. •Poor communication •Company growing pains •Lots of meetings and talk, slow to act, months / years •Lessons learned cost thousands just to tell us what we already knew, •Reactive company •Inexpirenced Safety Managers she is reactive, her strength is more procedural safety vs operational which slow progress •Former HR director runs company (voiced concerns from vast amounts t of employees) •Clicks •Racist remarks covered up and then reactive training set up (Apex) •employees told by managers to do busy work be invisible or hide for over a year •Seperate rules for certain employees, reactive training to cover / attempt to repair. •fake it till we make it vs fix the problems •I worked 70+ hours for over a year at a salary, •95% of the team that built the test track was apart of the RIF
