Great company at the beginning

Pros

The salary and benefits are excellent, especially for families. The work itself is fascinating, and the company’s size allows you to be involved in incredible projects. Some managers truly care about their teams and are fantastic to work with. However, the operations managers and many department heads often prioritize productivity over employee well-being, which can make the environment feel demanding at times.

Cons

The heads of departments often make decisions based on personal relationships rather than choosing what's best for the company. For years, they’ve overspent on food, private events for the inner circle at ICON, and unnecessary perks like beer. They also waste significant resources on logistics and missing parts, instead of properly planning before a project begins.

Pros

Leadership admitted behind close doors they were reviving a workplace safe for men and followed through by laying off the a huge portion of the women that were considered toxic by many. Celebrate this or demonize it at your discretion. Extremely good pay bordering on wasteful and probably why so many layoff cycles needed to occur.

Cons

ICON fails at the soft skills of technology. They're not incompetent, but they don't know how to manage people. ICON values loyalty and friendship over honesty. That was one good thing about Alex, you could tell him the truth and not get fired over it, even if you weren't friends. The company has burned cash like crazy on silly pet projects. Business outlook is pretty bad, the wall system is not the expensive part of the home building. Zero transparency.
