Cons

Management is unprofessional and inexperienced in leading "at will" employees. Constant friction in the work place. Lack of clear goals and lack of positive and productive leadership, They are not serving the community in the manner that they advertise. Since no profit has been made, have donations to Wounded Warrior been made as a result of the daily deal sales? (10% of profits benefit Wounded Warrior Program). This creates an integrity issue for many employees and is hard to use as a real sales tool when speaking to merchants. Extremely high turn over of sales force and employees in the company. You can have a employment contract signed with them and they will change the details and the salary on any given day.

Hard Working Start-Up with Positive Social Mission

Pros

• Great social mission: TroopSwap is excited about helping military families and providing them with quality offers. I like that! • Your voice gets heard: I really love the open door policy at TS. I was hired literally at one of the lowest entry level positions and from day 1 of my employment, I felt like I had a voice in the company. The CEO Blake Hall and co-founder Matt Thompson are incredibly open and receptive (hard to find in today's workplace). • I love that they care about the WORK: they don't care if you have on a suit, or great heels, or if you're in a tee shirt and flip flops: what matters is the work. I LOVE THAT because at work, I want to be judged on my work, and nothing else.

Cons

Being a start up, the hours are incredibly long. But that is an unavoidable part of working at a start up! You are expected to be available on weekends, long nights etc, but it's also really rewarding to see the work you're doing during that time actually matters.

Pros

Serve the military community. Meet local business owners and advocate on behalf of the local military community.

Cons

Rude senior management makes flippant comments in both public and private forums. Unprofessional behavior. Contempt and disrespect for military spouses. Constantly changing priorities. Constantly shifting organizational chart. NO org chart. Talk about employees behind their back. No work-life balance. No clear scope of responsibilities for each position within senior management or division of labor between Operations and Sales force.
