Pros
Relaxed work environment. No one is exceeding 40 hours a week Benefits are good, but you aren't even eligible to contribute to 104k until after 6 months which is quite odd and non-competitive Nice building and location to work at (Ravinia)
Cons
Big corporate "transformation" in progress Doesn't seem to attract top talent. Sure they recruit a lot of hotel experience, but with that comes a lot of career insiders and a lack of fresh ideas and ability to enact and embrace other industry's best practices. This leads to an over reliance on the use of external consultants. "Rather than hire some smart people with business acumen, lets pay them huge consulting fees to halfway solve our problems." Very short term focused. Lots of talk from senior leaders about internal reinvestment right before lots of people sound like they'll be impacted and internal projects are being postponed or underfunded. The talking points don't appear to match the actions. Recently announced that everyone in the entire country would receive the same annual merit increase, regardless of their performance review. How on earth did this get approved? Are they actively trying to disincentivize hard work?
