The company offers fantastic employee discounts on properties worldwide, which is an incredible perk for anyone who loves to travel. The opportunity to stay in high-quality accommodations at a fraction of the cost was a major highlight of my time there.
The work itself was consistently challenging, which I appreciated. It pushed me to develop my skills and grow professionally. While the pay was almost on par with the market, I felt it could have been more competitive given the demands of the role. Nevertheless, the combination of the discounts and the professional development opportunities initially made it seem like a place where I could see myself long-term.
However, the company’s internal culture presented significant challenges. The presence of cliques within the organization was undeniable. When I first joined, I felt included and valued. Unfortunately, as time went on and my role evolved, I experienced a shift from being perceived as a “pet” to a “threat.” This change led to the cliques closing ranks, which created a hostile work environment. It was disheartening to see how quickly things changed and how isolated I became.
What started as a promising career path ended in disappointment. The culture of favoritism and exclusion overshadowed the positive aspects of the job. While I appreciated the perks and the professional challenges, the toxic work environment ultimately made it impossible for me to stay. It’s unfortunate, as I truly believed this was a place where I might retire.
