Exciting time to be working for Intermountain, but also stressful.

Pros

While the amount of change seen in the organization over the past years is concerning, I believe it positions Intermountain to face the challenges of an ever-changing healthcare environment. It's been tough. We've lost great talent. I do believe that the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter, and while Intermountain's pay and benefits might not be as generous as what one might find in a start-up or a for-profit company, the noble mission of caring for others and the opportunities to make a difference are reasons many of my peers are highly committed to Intermountain.

Cons

Change fatigue may be too much for some. Sometimes in the big organization like Intermountain, it can be easy to feel undervalued. As for career progression, it feels like decision makers value those who market themselves more than those that are engaged in quietly doing great work. Some of the promotion / career growth decisions leave me scratching my head.

It used to be a great place to work

Pros

It used to be a great company, with lots of dedicated employees

Cons

Leadership has no clue as to what the rank and file actually do. They think outsourcing great, dedicated employees is a good idea. Marc Harrison and Marc Probst should go "disrupt themselves" elsewhere, and bring in good leadership.
