Non profit that runs like a corporation

Pros

There are awesome teams and co-workers. Makes a great work environment. Most have excellent work ethic and strive to do their best for patients and others

Cons

You are expendible. IH will not invest in you. They don’t pay for continuing education and you have to use PTO to go to a conference. If you want to advance in your career or gain a specialty, it’s not with IH. It is an act of congress to get any new material/items to complete your job, no matter what it costs. Upper/senior management don’t care, and mid management is required to be “yes” men, don’t contradict. Lots of spinning. They no longer care about their patient care and the quality of care, it is not about money and how much you can make them. It has lost the nonprofit organization feeling. They have banked on the local culture of service and hard work for too long, and the people don’t feel loyalty back and things are shifting negatively quickly. Benefits are not that good, including medical. 401k is par to sub-par. Pay is barely enough to float with cost of living and raises are not keeping up with inflation. Bonuses have almost completely disappeared.

Our benefits will continue to evolve based on caregiver feedback and market data. Lastly, we are committed to life-long learning and providing professional development opportunities for all our caregivers. Upward mobility is a key focus for us. We implement educational resources that empower caregivers to gain new skills that drive personal and professional growth. Some of these resources include access to an online digital learning library and partial tuition coverage for a number of accredited programs. Pros

I receive a paycheck. That's it! This is the WORST employment experience of my life.

Cons

Regularly asked to do unethical and illegal things like false documentation. There is NO support from this company as an employee at all. They do nothing about bullying, harassment and retaliation when their employees experience this. As an RN all of my management above me is either non-clinical or a Medical Assistant. There is no nursing leadership to maintain clinic regulations for State and OSHA. Favoritism and nepotism as far as corporate positions is rampant. As an RN you are helpless to ensure that your license is safe every day that you clock in due to no nursing management above you! RUN! DO NOT work for this company.
