Too much discord and disconnect

Pros

Closed on Mondays! Best joke ever

Cons

Being a mid level manager trying to navigate the corporate side as well as the membership side is challenging. However having those whom you directly report to offer little guidance, the wrong guidelines or talk out of both sides of their mouth leads to overall confusion. Lack of support and direction. Poor culture in operation

Horrible Company to Work for - RUN!!!

Pros

No pros - They talk the talk but do not walk the walk.

Cons

If you like to work countless hours on end with little to no appreciation than this is the place for you! They expect you to be available at all hours of the day, night and weekend. They don't give out raises/increases even with great reviews and job performance. Benefits are horrible at best, not competitive at all. They tell you about how great they are, get you to buy in and drink the kool-aid and then never deliver on what they promise. I have never met a company that really could care less about their employees. All they talk about and care about is EBITA. I know you are in business to make money, and trust me they make lots of it - even during COVID, but at what expense to good employees. Churning and burning is not the way to elevate your business. Unfortunately with the way Country Clubs work, Members have to pay their dues regardless so money is always coming in. Inter-departmental communications are almost non-existent and Corporate thinks all Clubs should run the same regardless of their Membership interests. Would never work for or live in a ClubCorp Club - EVER!

They don’t like when you leave...they won’t pay you

Pros

I don’t work there anymore

Cons

The least innovative company I’ve ever come in contact with. No real structure or career pathway. And don’t leave...two weeks is usually a courtesy but I’ve seen colleagues asked to leave the same day! There has been a mass exodus in the past year an no one cares because the executives will get there bonuses so they are all good there. The worse part is they make paying you after you depart the biggest inconvenience you can imagine. I was to be paid the last week and half of employment but little did I know, the last check would not be direct deposit but sent out as a live check through the snail mail. My hard earned money, plus vacation was floating through the US Postal system only to be sent back because the apartment number was left off. After a back and forth with the post office I received the check but by this time, the check was canceled by ClubCORP and the check reissued. I received written notice from their HR department not to cash the check and she was sure I would receive the check the next day. It’s been three days since that conversation and still nothing. So three weeks from my departure, I have not been paid. I don’t understand why they would deactivate direct deposit before the last check is disbursed. I guess you lose that benefit when you are no longer an employee partner.
