Pros

You get to enjoy having a top named company on your resume. You will experience the power and joys of working for a monopoly.

Cons

Overworked and emotionally abused by upper management. 16 hour days or be fired. A lot of unspoken culture you must adhere to or be fired. Management sets their teams up to lose for the purpose of making an example of how to be punished for thinking outside their box. Every year there are lay offs so it's not a matter of who its a matter of when. Anyone who has stayed for more then a few years must be very good at hiding within the corporate structure or blaming others for thier fails.

New Focus on "Hard Edge" is very transparent to staff and clientele

Pros

Class A+ buildings and master planned environment. Benefit package was great pre-2012. Name within the industry is well-respected.

Cons

Everything focused on Revenue in the past year to the sacrifice of both employee culture and customer experience. Extreme focus on the bottom line with no negotiations. Employees are mostly scared to speak up and are mostly miserable behind closed doors ; water-cooler talk is all negative. Recent dismissal of President of apartments division was fluffed over with pre-written speeches from VP's explaining he moved on to better pastures but was indeed let go because he was proud of his "soft edge" culture. Upper management thinks employees are blind or unintelligent by making crazy, un-needed changes just to "shake things up" ( ie--expecting managers to write up people who don't obtain Zip Codes from clients or don't finish a work order within the allotted time). Overall, company seems to be headed for a sale, IPO structure, or some big event because owner is reaching retirement and a new plan is set in place. Employees are still kept in the dark.

Pros

Apartment discount, clothing allowance, great friends, food provided at company rallies and meetings. One of the hardest companies to work for and looks great on a resume. Conservative and private company.

Cons

Terrible schedule, terrible management, the rules change daily, no personal life, no reasonable vacation time, long hours. You will work weekends and never be good enough. Fake management. You will literally work for the Irvine mafia. High turnover.
