Pros

Worked in call center. Facilities were excellent. Equipment was new and not broken-down or worn out. Schedules were accommodating to my other responsibilities. Training was thorough. Employee discount was fabulous. Communication from management was excellent. Hourly pay was above average for local area, and raises were awarded on regular basis. My work was reviewed frequently and honestly with opportunities provided for improvement.

Cons

All part-time employees were required to work at least 8 hours on either Saturday or Sunday. During heavy season, associates were heavily pressured into working overtime, often without advance notice. "Hey, don't you want to stay a few hours extra tonight?" My reply: "No, I work a regular 40-hour-per-week job plus about 30 additional hours per week here at J.Crew, so I would really like to go home and do my laundry." I was always looked down upon for this attitude.

Pros

It really depends on your management, but personal growth can be really encouraged here. The clothing is beautiful and the brand takes enormous pride in their quality. It is easy to sell the client on this.

Cons

The hours are obviously not ideal. And as in retail anywhere, time off can be tricky. And as management can be an asset, it can also leave you very stressed if you don't have someone who believes in you.

Pros

I enjoyed my time working here. I learned a decent amount about sales and really got to improve my customer service skills. The shifts are short which is nice. The discount is amazing and it kills me to pay full price now that I don't work there anymore.

Cons

I had problems with inconsistency in management and their lack of organization. Mainly when it came to closing the store. We would be kept for over an hour straigtening and fixing minute details with one manager while another would do a scan and call it a day. I also felt the commission for the sales staff vs. sales support were unfair. I started as sales and then moved to sales support. When you are sales support you do not make commission, even if you sell something. You only get compensated for opening j. crew cards, which is much more difficult.
