Interview here carefully

Pros

The current CEO has a magnetic personality and conveys competence. He should take care to ensure his leaders also reflect the values he frequently speaks about. The overall compensation plan can be very attractive if you know the market and negotiate well. Given the risks of working here, you should negotiate for above market. Also, don't count on the bonus coming through. They are renovating the office space, which is proving to increase accessibility to colleagues and ones ability to collaborate.

Cons

The internal infrastructure of resources and tools available to aide associates is severely lacking to non-existent in some areas. This has an enormous impact on productivity. There are not enough people resources to meet the demands of the business. This means they tend to hire talented, senior level people and then work them into the ground. In the Omni-channel organization, the eVP expects work to be your life-style and is rumored to check badge logs to monitor time in the office. While this may not be true, the belief is pervasive and overall morale is incredibly low. If you interview here, be prepared to ask a lot of questions to ensure working here day to day will fit your lifestyle and values.

Pros

Unfortunately, not many to list. There are some resources HR provides for training but they're not comprehensive.

Cons

No room for growth or movement, hiring freeze that HR team is neglecting to let employees know, no transparency whatsoever, CEO and leadership solely concerned about shareholders, shady business practices, leadership team underneath Executives are so frustrated and brunt out which trickles down to management employees, severely understaffed in home office, increase in layouts in past months (Jan-Apr) and no one is getting hired into newer roles, no room for development, no assistance to pursue higher education, older legacy systems that need more updates, because everyone is so overworked and stressed out, there is no sense of culture/teamwork/work family, incredibly behind retail trends, no clear vision in where the company needs to go, working on too many things with not enough resources to accomplish

Pros

- Good discount that pairs well the frequent coupons to get you some great deals. - Friendly, helpful managers at the Sioux City store :) Quick to respond when called. - Walkies are available at each register to give you somewhere to turn whenever you need to ask quick questions, etc. - Your work schedule is available 24/7 online, and you can easily view your paystubs and request days off online too. - The way they have us request change and close the registers is very organized compared to my jobs in the past and best of all, you don't get pressured if the money is off at the end of the day. Not that this has happened to me more than once or twice, but they understand that it's often not your fault and they move on. - Lastly, the team here really works hard to make the holidays festive and cheery with decorations and (if we're lucky) free treats and meals :)

Cons

The expectations for getting customers to apply for the credit cards... it's really a bit much. Also, if you work until closing (9pm at my store), then you won't have an actual set time to go home. You will have to stay and clean up until the managers decide the store looks good. Sometimes this takes an hour or more if the store was busy that day, but most of the time it's only about 30-40 minutes (which is ok).
