Pros

I have worked at another location and had a wonderful experience there.

Cons

This location was like being in the movie 'Mean Girls'. The managers were very rude and would make snarky comments. All other employees for fine to work with, but the managers were extremely difficult to get along with. They often took off of work, didn't stick to the availability employees turned in, and gossiped to customers and other employees.

Good job for retail....

Pros

Great atmosphere, great managers, great co-workers. You can get time off pretty easily and there are no sales quotas or pressure to push the customers. Pretty relaxed atmosphere and we have fun interacting with the customers. The employee discount is pretty good.

Cons

If you are looking for a job to pay your bills, this is not it. You are only guaranteed 2 days a week or about 12-15 hrs/wk unless it's around the holidays. The pay per hour is fair for retail but the "raises" are ridiculous and they should be ashamed to give such small raises. I feel they could easily pay more but there is a definite greed I did not expect to see from a Christian based company. You can learn to do jewelry repairs and soldering but there is no extra compensation for it. The only benefit is that you get to sit down a few hours when you do it. They do not offer any kind of health insurance even if you are willing to pay for it yourself.

Pros

Stores are well-maintained, work environment is attractive. Product is light-weight, very little physical effort to the job. Jewelry discount is OK if an associate wishes to purchase. Customers are faithful to the brand and the entire job is about pleasing existing customers rather than attracting new customers, which can be good if you're not a salesperson and prefer to let the customer just ask for what they want and you give it to them.

Cons

If you're a good salesperson, you'll enjoy working more and make more money elsewhere. No commission structure. No objective measurements used (UPT, email capture, ADS) to evaluate sales associate's performance. Stores are consistently over-staffed for customer traffic, so time creeps by (with the exception of December and May). If you're a person who likes to keep busy at work, this isn't the job for you. Store management isn't customer-focused--they are internally focused and more worried about what Kerrville HQ thinks than what a customer thinks.
