Pros

My experience over the past two years with JGA has been great. I graduated university and came to work here with no industry experience. The welcome I received was warm and friendly, with all levels of staff taking time to mentor me and teach me the 'ins and outs' of the construction industry. It has been an amazing experience to work with people who are genuinely passionate about what they do. The level of trust the senior members of staff put in you is also reassuring, they back you 100% . There are excellent opportunities to work on interesting complex jobs, chances to progress your career to more senior levels within the company, and to work in our other offices. The office is in a great location for after work drinks and if you're not into that there's plenty of gyms located within walking distance.

Cons

There is no parking available at the office. The office could be bigger and on a summers day it can get hot in the office.

Pros

Spent a few years working there and learnt alot! Friendly work environment, supportive management, good opportunity for career progression, option to work in one of the other offices for a year. Great location for lunch and after work drinks.

Cons

Sitting at a desk all day but comes with the territory of this line of work.

Pros

I joined JGA as a graduate engineer 17 years ago. Since then I've been given the training, support and opportunities to progress all the way to Director level. During my time here I've worked on some of the most challenging and rewarding projects anywhere in the UK and internationally with Clients who know what we can do and who trust us to deliver what we say on every project. I'm proud to be part of a company which has supported me and guided my development for my entire career. There’s a culture and commitment to not just world class technical work, but to the continual development of every one of our staff, and this is something which runs through the whole company. Graduate engineers are given a mentor to guide their progression, and to then become mentors themselves. Offices are arranged so that engineers of every level work with every other member of the team across all projects. This has been key to my development as an engineer and a consultant. The experience I’d gained after the first few years helped me massively once on my route to becoming a Chartered Engineer. Hard work is recognised and rewarded, shown most clearly by the fact that 9 out of the 12 Directors and Technical Directors joined as graduates and have stayed our entire careers.

Cons

Nothing big - I'm still here after 17 years!
