Hi, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we appreciate it and we also genuinely appreciate your company tenure. While “decent” by definition is an “acceptable standard” it is not where aspire to be. While a role in the BDC department is heavily dependent on individual performance metrics, we also want to be sure we are continuing to evaluate ways to be more competitive all around, especially in the economy we live in. Thanks again for your honesty, but also your time and contributions to the company. All the Best, Brooke

Hello, Thank you for taking time out of your day to leave a company review. I am really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your environment, that really does make all the difference in the workplace. I am unsure how to address the “Horrible corporate environment”, as we are not a corporate workplace, but a family- owned and operated business so I could imagine there would be a vast difference in the two depending on what you were/are looking for. We have not strayed too far from our founder’s missions, goals and core values and even with growth, at Jim Ellis you will always be a name, not a number and you will always have access to be seen and heard. It sounds like we met your expectations in other areas of importance to you and that is the one of the many goals as an employer. We will continue to work on areas of opportunity and improvement. Again, we do appreciate the review, but more importantly the time you spent with the company. We hope you are doing really well. Take care, Brooke

Pros

Great co-workers, Always closed Sundays and Christmas Eve and Christmas day.

Cons

Medical insurance is an absolute joke, had taken away 401k match for awhile to make medical insurance "more affordable" pay plan is hit or miss, unrealistic expectations, poor upper management.

Hi there, Thank you for leaving a company review. It is always humbling to read a review like this, and we can’t learn and improve without hearing feedback like this, so thank you. I am glad you felt surrounded by supportive team members who can make a difference in the work environment. Also really encouraged to hear you enjoyed your Sundays off as well as the holidays. Team members must have time to enjoy family life and recharge. Okay, let’s address your “cons,” as they are equally important. While I agree, medical insurance is very costly. If you surveyed costs inside and outside the industry, you would find soaring costs that companies are trying to combat to offer group benefits. Still, our benefits committee is mindful and committed to continuously evaluating the market to provide the most competitive process for both individuals and families. We, too, are thankful for the reinstatement of the 401k match. It is difficult for a company to make all the right decisions when building a benefits package, as one size does not fit all 1700-plus team members. With that said, we take our benefit offerings seriously and will continue to explore ways to enhance the offerings. Management in any industry is demanding; ours is no different. While I cannot speak for the management team you are referencing, I know that all managers, including myself, have shortcomings or pain points. Hence, we conduct mandatory leadership training, ongoing support, and coaching to find the best ways to improve their managerial portfolio. To the long and short of it, I am genuinely sorry your work experience and time with us left you feeling this way. We will continue to evaluate ourselves and make improvements along the way. Take care, Brooke
