Pros

Nice Product Can work with cool customers Learn about tailoring and how clothes are supposed to fit Can stay busy enough with all the work you can do Can negotiate sales

Cons

Poor Upper management that doesn't micro manage very well. Constant unnecessary sales that with dilute the value of the product and traffic when you have customers come in and will come back for another sale Always talked down to I get paid 9.75 to manage, sell, fit clothes, do inventory, check stock, do tuxedos, do phone calls, do customer service, take conference calls when needed, clean the store and expect to make top sales The system is outdated and not easy to work with and will crash This is the Biggest one...We are located in an OUTLET MALL and this store is a REGULAR PRICED STORE. This is the reason I have worked with 8 different managers who ALL wanted to work in high volume stores. We have told them for years as well as ARUNDEL MILLS themselves to make us an outlet or get us out of the mall and yet the company is wondering why we are not performing as good as we should and I have worked with STELLAR salesmen who have left because they know there is no future at this location. The retention is unbelievable. Also my final complaint is the tuxedo's and code fives. The system with these items are unbelievably bad. For the tuxedo's I was sent something with holes in them. And code five's (which is another thing I get paid 9.75 for) will get sent from the busiest stores that also have to do a lot of things that I do times 2. Just send the stuff from the warehouse where we won't be nearly as busy WITH the stock that is necessary instead of sending it out to stores and then blame us for not selling enough items from our online services.

Pros

you will get plenty of hours, you get paid weekly which is good since you will surely live paycheck to paycheck, opportunity to practice patience with unreasonable and demanding customers, ability to eat standing up in the back room on occasion when business is slow since there is no break room, product is of good quality, and great way to meet business men and network for a better job

Cons

they lie to you from the beginning and tell you that you will make commission on everything......you CAN make commission on everything if you work full time and sell atleast 3,000 a day which is absolutely impossible when you work in a store that doesnt sell 3,000 in an entire week sometimes. NOBODY has made commission in our store in years. They have a very high turn over rate, belittle you on a consistent basis, and constantly ride you about sales. They do not hire from within and there is no chance of advancement. The pay is horrible but better than unemployment. They treat the lazy and incompetent the same as the hardworking and knowledgeable. You NEVER get to sit down EVER. Lunch breaks are unheard of. They change the schedule 3-4 times a week then dont let you know about it. Forget about having a life. Over worked, underpaid, and under appreciated.

Pros

Have a job and have some cash that lasts me a day or two Occasional employee sale Coworkers are fun to be around

Cons

Antiquated payroll system, with low pay and expensive benefits. Commission is next to impossible to achieve, especially at the key holder level and above. Store managers get an automatic 3% commission on every sale, and take sales away from the staff that are making pennies a day. The store manager shouldn't have the highest sales in the store. Management could care less about your work life balance and extended hours for confusing sales are a joke. Obnoxious sales and promotions actually have customers making fun of the staff since they change so often. There is no technology at all in the company, the POS is old and antiquated, and everything is paper driven, each store probably has it's own forest of trees cut down on a regular basis.
