Pros

-Fantastic team that strikes great balance between being serious and direct with projects/planning, but also provides a great environment to be yourself -Benefits/laptop -Focus on having all new hires understand the customers/organization/software -Potential to grow within the company -Comfortable sharing any potential 'cons' with management without any backlash. I've found as long as I have been supportive/professional I have gotten the same in return

Cons

-Some teams could be more balanced in hires (diversity in every sense of the word)

Thank you for your review! We certainly pride ourselves on being an environment where team members can be themselves. We take your comment about diversity very seriously. We're always open to ways that we can be an even more diverse workforce. Don't hesitate to get in touch with a member of the People Operations Team if there are programs or ideas that you'd like to see us implement. Thank you!

Pros

Jobber is hands down one of the best tech companies you can work at in Edmonton. Lots of smart people, friendly working environment, always paying attention to the latest technologies. I have witnessed lots of changes happened in the past 12 month or so, teams are more oriented, better standards are made, more and more processes are automated. For Devs who are reading this, here are some key words, NEW Mac gear, github, agile, scrum, continuous integration, micro services, etc etc.. For myself, using Ruby on Rails and ES6 is so much cooler than the other languages XD

Cons

With very rapid growth of employees, it's hard to get to know everyone on every floor as before. Parking is another pain in centre downtown, fortunately it's close to LRT and bus station.

Unprofessional upper management

Pros

- Free food for whenever you want - (Mostly) good people to work with - Monthly outings for employees

Cons

Where do I even start... Let me say that the cons definitely outweigh the pros for Jobber. - You can NEVER trust upper management with anything. Do not ever confide anything with your manager or higher-ups, as they will just defend their own actions and have zero empathy with employee issues when brought up. And yet, they preach empathy with their customers... - Sales management is outdated and refuses to grow up. They make comments that are extremely unprofessional, inappropriate and insulting. They are not sensitive to other cultures. - Upper management will have their own backs before they ever have yours. - Sales management likes to spread rumours to make you uneasy and question everything you know. Do not believe anything they say - instead, go to the source. - Sales management says that they're flexible, but they're the farthest thing from flexible. - They think that motivating you is telling you that you're "easily replaceable", which is NOT motivating but very discouraging. They will bottle everything up inside and explode on you, tell you to "shape up" or leave, instead of helping you like a normal manager should do. They do not have your interests at heart. They also tell you that they "regret hiring you," to your face, alone, and then have the audacity to ask if there's anything they can do to change. Here's my answer: EVERYTHING. Stop insulting your staff. - Sales management is technologically uneducated...at a tech company.
