Pros

Love to work with customers. Building business from the ground up, growth! Being able to think outside of the box. I am energetic and invite a good challenge.

Cons

It can be seasonal. Sometimes after you establish your customers you will only be able to grow to a certain degree. I would also like to train other workers to build a bigger portfolio of customers.

Pros

Great opportunity to learn about HVAC if you ask questions! Johnestone Supply is a coop with locations in several markets owned by different people. Goal-oriented environment.

Cons

Commission plan is a joke. No one could properly explain it, so it feels as if getting commission is a game you have to play, moving accounts in and out of your territory to make it work for you. No other company I have worked for made it this difficult to get commission. Management can and has decided to take commission away from sales reps. As a territory manager , you have very little freedom to make decisions for your customers. Read your non-disclosure carefully before you decide to come on board. My insurance was cancelled (according to AETNA) before the month was up, and then the company lied to me about it. They did reinstate it afterwards, but I had to pay for my appointment in order to be seen that day. So many Meetings for the Sales team- There is a 7 AM Mandatory Monday meeting and a Friday 3:30 PM Mandatory Meeting. These meetings could have been short emails! I felt like every ounce of determination I had was sucked up and spit out as not good enough.

Pros

Pay was good for position.

Cons

Little to no knowledge of technology in the entire company. Extremely hesitant to advance in that regard. Environment is that of high school. A lot of drama. The worst, by far, was that I was sexually harassed by someone in a management position and when I went to the HR guy (who also happened to be friends with said man), he told me that since I accepted his friend request, it meant that his advances were consensual. In the three days between me reporting it AND SUPPLYING SCREENSHOTS (in which he commented on a breastfeeding photo and asked me to send more so “he could more closely inspect it”), they continued to not only force me to sit directly in front of this guy, but also work with him closely. They refused to do anything about it. I quit on the spot.
