Pros

Great place to start out of college. Causal dress code Summer Friday's Free food Free massages Work parties that happen more during the summer. Team led happy hours. A young company with members that want to grow the company.

Cons

Leadership is not transparent about issues. They refuse to talk about how things are getting bad because they believe things are getting better. Statistics are saying the opposite. Mid level managers really have no authority because the CEO/President have to approve every project. If they are out for the week, things are at a standstill. There is a huge gap in processes. When new talent comes in to help create seamless processes, pushback is met by a lot of the employees who worked here for years. They have the " if it's not broke; don't fix it" approach to change. Issue is, things are very broken. Pay is very low compared to other CPG companies. They do not negotiate pay during interviews. With small companies like Blue Apron & Vita Coco having work from home policies ( even 1 day a week) it's upsetting that Kind is behind the times. Kind states it's for having teamwork and collaboration but it's more to keep tabs on its employees. With technologies as IM, google hangouts, Skype etc. it's easier now, to work remotely and still be productive. WFH is really frowned upon at the office and will stunt career growth, if you do it. If you're not in sales you will not be working from home. Kind boast about being company owners and speaking to managers to correct this but enough people have pushed for a WFH policy but will not implement one. Summer Fridays even though a pro, is monitored by leadership. They patrol the office making sure everyone is present. If they know someone is not in, they will inquire if you took a day off.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. KIND has grown quickly so some growing pains are inevitable. In the face of bumps in the road, we’ve always valued candid feedback. We think that the only way to really improve is by having honest, transparent conversations. Hopefully you felt comfortable sharing this feedback with those you worked closely with, or HR directly, while you were still with the company. We thank you for your contributions during your time with us and wish you all the best. - KIND HR

Pros

Decent give back to full time employees. Nice location in regards to transportation for all employees (commuters and non-commuters). Decent vacation policy for majority of staff.

Cons

Doesn't follow through on promises. Little give back to employees that aren't full time or company veterans. Not always honest in regards to consumers.

Pros

-Casual dress is allowed. -Coworkers are super friendly and hardworking. -Frequent team activities and happy hours -Company is rapidly growing and expanding into new markets. -Community kitchen stocked with snacks and stocked fridge. -Company is small enough to get experience in all aspects of running a CPG company. -Generous PTO, summer Friday's, & monthly snack shipment. -Often promote from within and can try out different departments if not happy with current position.

Cons

-Growing out of current HQ, we need a new space asap. -No room for growth. -Salaries are low compared to other companies in NYC. -People work hard, but sometimes do not get acknowledged for it. -KIND feels like a startup, in a bad way. People are working hard to put processes into place, but they are not being followed. The people that have been here since the inception of KIND are having a hard time keeping up with the times. -Lack of structure. There are so many people being hired that no one knows what they are supposed to be doing anymore. -The CEO seems to not trust his team and has to make a decision on EVERYTHING. He really needs to let people do their jobs.

We want to start by thanking you for your commitment to KIND over the past three years. We have big ambitions and are moving quickly to keep up with our growth while also setting a vision for the future. As a team of owners, we owe it to one another to ensure we realize the company’s potential. One way we can achieve this is by providing one another feedback openly and regularly. We hope you know that Daniel’s door is always open, and we encourage you to share your thoughts with him. He is a passionate and committed leader who welcomes the opportunity to be introspective and self-critical. If you don’t want to share your suggestions directly with him, please consider talking with your manager, another member of the leadership team, or HR. - KIND HR
