Pros

Laid back environment, casual attire on most days Face-paced (that I enjoy) Recent years went online with a lot of courses so if you are technically savvy, there's a place for you for sure. Layoffs from top first so you may have more of a chance if you are on the front line They have flexible spending accounts, matching 401K, transportation benefits, life insurance (even though I used my own / private) and health insurance. Evaluations every year.

Cons

Not stable as a career for many A lot of layoffs from up top first Pay is not so great They usually try to get you to do more than one job for one salary You will have to work at least one weekend day Many activities at different hours but usually no overtime so your schedule can shift often so you stick to the regular number of hours 40 hour work week (not 35) so consider that when they give you the salary amount (hourly or yearly). There is a cap on the medical / dental coverage so I would advise that you use your health flexible spending.

Pros

If you're lucky, you run into other individuals in similar roles who are great people; efficient in their duties and genuinely cares about the students that they work with. In my current role, there's a bit of flexibility that is allowed as far as set hours each day and working remotely. But that's as far as the pros go

Cons

Where do I begin? Management is incompetent; nothing is communicated well to "lower-level" employees; false promises and hot air is continuously spewed through excessively long conference calls and e-mails. Most of the positions ask for at least a bachelors degree when pay does not match AT ALL. There are select favorites (that are too incompetent) throughout the company that get ahead, while the rest continue to drown in a situation that can't improve.
