Think twice....

Pros

I 'was' really excited about working here. Fun portfolio of brands. You get to work on some fun projects. Office is brand new and very nice.

Cons

Tons of gossiping and backstabbing. No work/life balance. Upper management is VERY mean and can't make up their minds. They are extremely indecisive and like to point fingers. Fun projects to work on but not worth it. Work environment is very stressful. They overwork employees and don't care.

Can't do

Pros

*LVMH looks great on resume *4 weeks PTO, half day Fridays *Standard benefits - comparable to other CPG companies (401k match) *Sephora discount -30%

Cons

All the brands' campaigns are more diverse than the actual teams behind them. Don't fall for the fake "girlboss" feminism. BIPOC, NBPOC - stay away! You'll waste years of talent, tears, ruin your health, have every ounce of you overlooked just for a paycheck. The heavy work of DEI is being done by full time employees including management team that is not invested in practicing what they preach. This should all be outsourced to outside consultants. Speaking of management, good luck ever hearing about how our financials are! You'll hear when products launch that everything is exceeding forecast but when it's time for performance reviews, the company has no money for bonuses . Managers are given NO training on how to be leaders. And the pecking order is so real and prevalent. Forget trying to talk to directors or above - they'll look right through you. If you provide the feedback to HR, they'll tell you "well, some personalities are like that since birth - realistically, I can't go that far back." It's a JOKE! A painful joke and lesson I should've learned secondhand from the dozens of shows and movies that showed beauty industry as toxic. Silly me thought times were changing and this sort of stuff wouldn't happen in SF.

Bully and Mean Girl Culture

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

There is free makeup and lots of snacks.

Cons

Talent and experience matter very little at Kendo. If you are not willing to bully and do "whatever it takes" to get ahead then you won't progress and/or last. Kendo brings out the absolute worst in people. The culture trickles down from the top with VPs who bully (mostly) women below them into leaving or switching teams if they don't personally like them or are threatened by them (HR knows about this and does nothing), call people "losers" in meetings and make it a terrible place to work. Kendo is the epitome of women tearing other women down.
