Pros

Good commercial stability, not being propped up by hype like a lot of the Tech space. Growing a lot in a time when that's less common. Lots of opportunity for smart folks who want to get stuff done. Leadership seems to know what it's doing.

Cons

As a roughly Series D company, it's too controlled of an environment for folks looking for a seed/angel round startup environment, and still too fast paced for folks looking for an effortless paycheck.

Pros

If you’re coming into a product or software engineering department, this place will likely be a very good fit for you

Cons

This review is only a representation of my experience on the insurance/underwriting side of things. As an underwriting support agent my goal was to become an underwriter and do so within a reasonable time frame. However, 2 years had gone by and the opportunity was not presented. Moreover, this company has automated so much of the underwriting process that if you want to develop an underwriting career with a true expertise in underwriting, this place will not equip you for that. I realized after moving to another company that this place taught me basically nothing about underwriting models even thought I had worked in their uw department for 2 years. Underwriters here don’t need to have a deep level of expertise because of the automation implemented, and as a result, their underwriters become too under-qualified to continue their careers elsewhere. The level of investment in the uw department is so minimal that there’s no drive for underwriters to receive their designations or attend insurance conferences. All of this considered allows the company to get away with paying their underwriters below average market rates.
