Collaborative Atmosphere Among Peers: A Silver Lining Amidst Challenges
Pros
Working alongside peers who shared my role and responsibilities not only fostered a sense of solidarity but also facilitated seamless knowledge sharing and mutual support.
Cons
Throughout my time at Kohl’s I observed a notable lack of effective leadership from the HR team, which manifested in poor decision-making processes and a failure to address critical issues within the company. Such shortcomings not only hindered productivity but also eroded trust and morale among employees. Moreover, my experience there was marred by instances of racism, a stain on the company's reputation and culture. Despite the cohesive relationships among peers at the same level, experiences of discrimination and bias tarnished the overall work environment, highlighting systemic issues that require urgent attention and resolution. Additionally, communication within the organization left much to be desired. Vital information often seemed to get lost in translation, leading to confusion and inefficiencies that could have been mitigated with clearer and more effective communication channels. Processes would change from one week to another, and some team members were overworked, while others were incompetent at their tasks and relied on people under them to do the job.
