Pros

1) Work from home. 2) Good health plan

Cons

1) Very low pay 2) No Holidays off 3) Vacation time is not clear on the paycheck or on the online resource for the interpreter schedule 4) Give you a run around when personal information is needed (vacations, sick days) 5) Issues are not resolved on time. Have to send email for everything and the emails do not get answered on a time or do not get answered at all. 6) Only 30 minutes break with no chance to change it. 7) Can't take bathroom break without getting harassed within 3 minutes of being disconnect to connect back. 8) Extremely low pay for the level of sensitivity of some calls that can get recorded to be used in court for criminal cases or Health related lawsuits.

Pros

Don't have to pay gas. Dont have to deal with rude co-workers. Not physically demanding.

Cons

Managment is nowhere to be found. Don't respond to support requests. Schedules are very fixed. Not a very flexible company. Training doesn't prepare you for any of the calls. Job is incredibly stressful. Clients can be very rude and impatient. The operating systems are like 60 years old. Need more breaks. In my case, I get about 30-45 seconds in between calls to breath. Lastly, PAY IS HORRIBLE.

Tricky and non-transparent payroll calculation

Pros

Okay, It's a job that you can work from home.

Cons

They have their own ways of "calculations" and have provided a template explanation to all interpreters how they do their calculations if one is in doubt, which seemingly is transparent. Yet on their payroll they never mentioned how many minutes the interpreters worked, but rather how much the interpreters made in each of their fancy categories (aka Premium minutes, Guarantee minutes, Long call day, Long call night, etc) . If you try to convert those amounts into minutes, you almost could never figure out how they come up with that result. They offer Call History for interpreters to check the calls but one could only date back for a two-week record. The minutes notated in the Call History almost never coherent with their own payroll minutes (after conversion). After informally communicating with some interpreters, I came to notice many of them are just too laid back to check their records closely, and have ignored how much SHORTER in the payroll all the way. One should be surprised in how much less the company has paid the interpreters in a year by keeping a strict record.
