Pros

Doing their best to change.

Cons

Change comes with change management. There is no change management at all at Lennar. There is a LOT of politics to effectively to get results. Zero empowerment and lack of transparency from senior management to middle management, and business analysts basically are instructed to work in silos - literally. . Senior Management at the IT Department does not have management training, it is extremely micro-management. Again, no empowerment or delegation. Very tactical, with no clear priorities that constantly change, on a daily basis there is a Stand-Up meeting to get approval on new requirements.

Pros

Lennar has a big name that looks impressive on your resume...

Cons

... and that's all. I worked one year at Lennar Corporate, which is the shortest period I've spent at any company. The culture is phony, and marred by overall stupidity, especially from their sister mortgage (UAMC) and foreclosure (Rialto) companies. Just awful. Avoid, unless you are really desperate.

Pros

Free coffee, snacks, covered parking and views of the airport. Good people. Cold turkey holiday luncheons complete with profit sermons as entertainment.

Cons

After many years of working here, I’ve seen Lennar shift from a family-focused company to one solely driven by profits. Over time, I witnessed frequent changes in upper management, each bringing a new and inconsistent business direction. This is not a company where you can build a lasting career or feel supported as an employee. Career development is virtually non-existent, and employees are treated as disposable resources. The current CIO has placed close associates in influential positions, enabling the outsourcing of most of the IT department offshore. I was among those impacted, spending months training my offshore replacements—an experience that severely tested my patience. While most of the department has been outsourced, the company has invested heavily in renovating office space. To maintain appearances for investors who frequently tour the premises, employees are required to work onsite daily, despite many desks remaining empty. Job security is a constant concern, and much of your time will be spent supporting offshore teams and addressing emergencies. The work environment is highly toxic, and if you accept a position here, don’t plan on staying for the long term.
