Pros

LCS has a beautiful new building, The employees are mostly top notch, There is a very strong focus on the customer. Some departments get lot of face time and attention from their managers and their departments grow as the business does. The company has an active social committee run by the employees. The pay is good.

Cons

The managers are very secretive about well everything. Even when people quit they are asked not to say anything and a email goes out 1-2 days prior to the employees last day. If you have an idea, complaint, or a request you will not hear back from most of the managers about it. Several of the small departments get over looked. They are over worked, under staffed, and seem to go unnoticed. Combine that with the Secretive nature or just plain lack of communication with those teams and it makes it very hard for them to do their job to the best of their ability. It also makes it hard to keep a positive outlook since you have no way of knowing if relief or if anything is going to change. Long hours, Expect long hours in most departments. While there are deadlines as with any company. Many of the long hours are a direct result of poor planning on projects timing from the management, the work load vs staffing not lining up, or the lack of resources to improve processes resulting in inefficiency.

Thank you for your thoughtful review. Since LCS has grown quickly it can be difficult to find qualified and trained employees to fill all roles within the organization. Last year we hired over 50 employees and recently we have implemented new programs that focus on increasing internal training and systems in order to put a larger focus on developing our current employees for future roles. Here at LCS communication is very important to us. Before making any type of announcement to all employees first we consider who the announcement might impact and have face to face conversations with each of those employees. While taking this approach may delay communication to others in the organization we feel that it's important to have appropriate conversations with those that are most impacted rather then rushing to make announcements to all employees.

Pros

Great environment, co-workers, believe in the amazing product and everything we sell and support.

Cons

Managers are disrespectful as well as the CEO who feels your problems aren't good enough to listen too, keeps everything a secret, if you go to me privately about a problem he will act like your need is very important but as soon as his office door closes he doesn't care.

Here at LCS we work hard to make sure all employees work in an environment where they feel comfortable and respected. We have many policies and procedures in place to promote this type of culture. We encourage you to come to the Human Resources department to discuss your concerns so that they can be addressed appropriately.

Pros

LCS puts a lot of focus on having a beautiful facility. And it truly is. There are some truly nice people working at LCS.

Cons

LCS lacks the professionalism and culture that one should expect to find in a truly great company. For example, I witnessed the CIO literally yell at a room filled with all of the developers once because the software was not at the level prematurely promised to customers at the annual convention. Training in the technology (actual programming training) required to do your job is nonexistent. However, know that you WILL work long hours at LCS frequently just to meet the extremely aggressive estimates completed before adequate knowledge exists about what work is required. You WILL be held to those estimates. Your extra effort will not be noticed or appreciated. It often feels as though you are set up to fail. Additionally, managers frequently stand around openly ridiculing interviews that they completed, former employees and even other current employees and managers. Extremely unprofessional behavior that I have never seen before. Turnover is a revolving door for a reason. This is not a "great place to work".

At LCS we value our employees and work hard to create a culture that allows each of them to thrive. However, like any other company we do have deadlines. Our Software Developers create their own estimates including setting their own schedules and deadlines for each project. Our Agile software development process allows Developers to have the flexibility they need, while working collaboratively to meet product deadlines that they have defined. Software Developers at LCS seem to enjoy this process, in fact, the turnover rate in our Development department is currently at 5.61%, significantly below industry average. We absolutely do not tolerate ridiculing of any kind and we have policies in place to prevent this. Our President and CEO reinforces the importance of treating all employees, customers and interview candidates with respect. This is one of the many reasons we have been voted one of the Best Places to Work in Cincinnati for the last 5 years. If you witnessed anything other than this, we wish you would have reported it to the Human Resources department so that it could have been addressed appropriately. We are sorry you had a negative experience and wish you the best in your career.
