Pros

- people on my specific team are great to work with, including the team lead - ability to work from home if you need to

Cons

- upper management praising they care about your mental health, but they continue to over work and under appreciate their employees - inexperience around the entire company and most showing no improvement or needing to learn - extremely toxic work environment. its never working as a team, always against one another across all sections of the company - we are over worked and under valued. the pay grade for the amount of work we do in operations is borderline embarrassing. - they praise the ability to promote fast, but little did we know its a stalemate with the company hiring outside for the jobs we are working towards. - the expectations are pretty outrageous, and we are scolded if we do not hit the smallest thing. it is always "we need to do better" not "here is what we can do to try to fix this" - operations is stuck working in a glorified call center with little to no privacy to do the crazy amount of stress inducing work while sales gets the brand new top quality office with tons of space to have a healthier lifestyle to work at. At least get some real updates going for the second office. - the micromanagement is also through the roof. everything is about new stats 3 times a day every day. . If you have a process that works and it shows, then this should not be an issue (which it seems like it is). everything has to be done a certain way. - anytime someone has a new idea about a process, its noted, but never brought back to life. no one is actually thought about when it comes to the "independent thinkers, tightly aligned" core value. - 401k match is a joke - overall, could not recommend this work place less unless you are in it to make some awesome friends.

Not really the "best place" to work - Toxic

Pros

- Cool office space - Nice cafeteria - Fast growth - Great coworkers

Cons

- Diversity: The diversity in this company has improved since I've started working here but is still predominantly white males. - Inclusion: It is very obvious that upper management doesn't know the difference between diversity and inclusion. Examples: A barber shop was constructed in the office, almost every company event is golf related, the Juneteenth event had to be organized by an employee rather than the company (a loan officer shouldn't have to be the one to organize this, the CEO/upper management should care enough to plan something). - Benefits: The 401k match is poor, the amount of PTO you get is pretty low, you don't get any sick days. - Stress and Anxiety: You feel like you're married to your job, have to work overtime practically every day just to feel like you aren't drowning in work, production expectations are astronomical, they pile on the work load but expect you to produce the same amount. - Frat house feeling: As previously mentioned, women are greatly outnumbered. This company is 90% males fresh out of college. - Management: Very clear favoritism. If you report something to HR, there is a likely chance the manager will retaliate (you will get demoted, fired, ignored). Individuals are promoted to management positions with 0 management experience. Titles really don't mean anything, the "AVP"s of departments are typically just as clueless as anyone else on their team. - Numbers based: People who produce crap work get praised, those who produce amazing quality of work are rarely recognized. Quantity > Quality is the only thing upper management cares about, and then wonder why there are post closing issues.

Pros

Standard benefits Commission opportunity for loan officers, particularly those who were grandfathered in pre-2020 Leads are provided for loan officers

Cons

Typical mortgage company/loan officer struggles you’ll see anywhere: Being married to your job, toxic masculinity, high rate of substance abuse, frat/kool-aid culture, high disconnect between sales and operations, high pressure to meet monthly quota/scorecard metrics, rocky starts to new systems, etc. Lower-centric cons: Hunger Games-esque/favoritism-based promotional metrics Sales promotional opportunities have been announced to halt altogether 08/21-through-TBD Management stretched entirely too thin Operations staff turnover too high to have enough trained processors/underwriters/closers to meet loan deadlines Extremely high inconsistency with any competitor price-match or grace concessions to customers, currently offering $0 of either, causing sales to decline and customer service issues in which loan officers are alone in handling Complete company restructuring/consolidating every ~4 months, every restructure coming with an inevitable pay cut HR/management disregard valid concerns regarding Covid safety in the workplace, as well as criminal behavior of its own employees (Claim to ‘not be able to take stances’ on publicly-recorded offenses such as domestic abuse) Quotas requiring consumers to leave reviews written about loan experience, commission reduction for loan officers if not met quarterly

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. We appreciate the constructive feedback. This industry is certainly a fast paced one, and we value the quality of our team's work when evaluating potential promotions. We are also always looking at ways we can improve internal communications between departments so we all can operate more efficiently and prepare for any changes.
