Pros

Not many, co-workers are great,

Cons

CEO only cares about profit, does not recognize its the little peons that are making those GM,s and DM,s look good, Pay is not equal to the work being done, Cannot hire enough people because of the pay, Cannot keep employees because of being overworked and not appreciated, Almost feels like working in a sweat shop

Pros

Great coworkers Opportunities to learn new skills

Cons

Pay below industry averages and no perks to offset - no 401k match, 3 weeks max vacation, skimpy merit increases No concern for employees, only the bottom line Demanding upper management with tight deadlines that they continually try to squeeze even tighter which leads to sacrifices in quality (which you will then be blasted for) No real collaboration between IT and the departments that are supported - an us vs. them mentality There is also an us vs. them mentality between the Richmond office (original AMF employees) and the New York office (original Bowlmor employees)

Pros

Amazing bowling discount Free food Great sales conferences Centers have a great aesthetic Will get rid of poor managers and promote good managers

Cons

I was hired when Bowlmor/AMF purchased Brunswick bowling centers. At first, I was excited about the possibility and change but I quickly started to dislike the changes. I worked at a center in the midwest and was expected to sell like I was in New York or LA where space for events is at a premium and there is little to no competition from other bowling alleys. I lost so many former customers because of the dramatic increase in prices and the inability to negotiate. Thankfully I went before things went from bad to worse. When sales plummeted because our customers left for cheaper, more flexible alternatives, sales people were fired and not replaced. This put even more strain on the team as there were not enough sales reps to meet demand during peak times. Within 2 years of the acquisition, all but one of the great MN sales team either quit or were fired.
