Pros

A majority of the co-workers are talented and very friendly

Cons

Upper management is horrible, the main person in charge Clayton is as slimy as they come. He can't be trusted. They refuse to invest in employees, equipment or applications. They push out knowledgeable and talented people and they promote ones that lack knowledge and ability. Parking stinks, they actually own the parking lot but charge the employees to park there. When the weather is bad they refuse to let people work from home and will force them to use vacation time.

Working with cool clients is not worth it

Pros

- Working in the travel industry is fun and a lot of clients are considered interesting/cool - Coworkers are nice and try their best - everyone helps each other out in rough circumstances

Cons

- Continually rolled back WFH/hybrid policy and I believe they will continue to do so...currently the policy is in-office M-W ("if you don't like this policy then don't work here") - Every team is consistently overworked and so tired - they keep piling on the work with promises of new hires/solutions but nothing ever happens - Broken promises all around when it comes to anything that you ask for/say you need - Everyone on my team was always extremely stressed/anxious and it never stopped (they act like they care about mental health but do nothing to help alleviate these issues) - As other reviewers said, profit seems to be the #1 most important thing - not the employees (or even the clients honestly - always trying to up sell to them) - Long term employees get additional perks/special treatment - Raise/bonus structure seems unfair - they won't explain if you ask questions - Start with low vacation days/pay

I certainly agree with all the pros that you shared . . . the travel industry is “sexy”, we have some very interesting clients, and we have some of the best people in the world working at MMGY Global!! But “wow” on the cons that you call out. I don’t know that I can respond to all those listed, but I’ll try to touch on some . . . Yes, we did make a change to our previous flexible work policy at the beginning of the year, changing from 3 flexible days in office to a hybrid work policy with 3 defined days required in the office. However, employees still have 2 days every week to work from home, or some other location, if desired. We know our teams are more connected, effective, and efficient in client delivery when we are working more consistently together in the office. Hence this decision which we believe to be the best arrangement for MMGY Global to balance meeting both business/client needs, and employee needs. We will continue to evaluate this, and make changes as needed to find the best balance for MMGY Global, which you are correct, may not appeal to everyone. We have made significant investments in new positions across the global organization over the last 1-1.5 years. We’ve significantly reduced our open/unfilled positions, and without including acquisitions, the organization headcount has increased 30%! As for mental health, our medical benefits, EAP support, and leave options are in place to help meet those needs. But if there are other requests or options to consider, then I hope the current employees will share those via our annual Engagement Survey. I’m sorry that it seems your experience with us was less than stellar. I hope that you find a company that better meets your needs, and I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Mia Wise CHRO

Pros

Well known brands. Opportunity for travel.

Cons

As the company has grown, gone through mergers and acquisitions, and become owned by investors, MMGY has sold its soul. It is clearly a corporate environment not an agency. Money drives everything, not the quality of the work or impact made. Profitability, efficiency and margins always guides the work being delivered.

Hello, It is certainly true that MMGY Global is growing; the growth is organic, and from acquisitions. And that growth is requiring us to change, changes that help us effectively manage a growing client portfolio, and a growing, diverse population of incredible talent. MMGY Global is an agency that provides a service to our clients, and that service has to be top-quality to retain those clients. We are an organization responsible for providing compensation and benefits to our employees, those that provide the top-quality service. And we are business with a responsibility to our investors, such that they continue investing in our services and our people. Mia R. Wise EVP, Global HR
