Pros

The company does have some of the best and hardest working mid-management to blue collar workers you will ever find. If you can find someone who knows what they are doing and whose job has not been "farmed" out to 3rd party vendors, these people will bend over backwards and give you the shirts off their back to help you.

Cons

Horrible base pay. Horribly unattainable incentive packages. "Skeleton crew" staffing so you need to work for 2-3 people in order to make your job happen. Upper management initiatives run contradictory to customer service many times, this leaves the "ground forces" having to constantly face strained customer relations.

Pros

There are some nice people that work here. There is also a decent amount of free food that vendors bring in which is nice.

Cons

I would stay far away from this place. Disorganization and close mindedness are the words of the day. The pay is sub par and many inside sales people leave and go to the direct competition or to the manufacturers and make more money to focus on a smaller product range and do the same job. This is also a company that doesn't truly value their employees. I have numerous examples of this including having an employee who worked for MRC in the Netherlands move to the US, sell their home, have spouse quit job, and take kids out of school. Only to show up and be told that the position they were supposed to fill no longer existed and that they only had a few months of work left. This isn't an isolated incident. If you aren't part of the club, regardless of talent or knowledge, you won't progress here. Senior management doesn't have any innovative people. It's almost completely made up of guys that have been around forever and think the same way. I say all of this to say, if you are unemployed and need to keep the lights on at home, do what you have to do. Otherwise, look for somewhere else to work.

Pros

Fast paced job Company cares about safety Never time to get bored Customers are typically great Clothing allowance You are part of something bigger than the company you work for Fair commission plans for eligible employees Equipment is taken care of and as a result this is a very safe place to work If you like hard work MRC is a great fit.

Cons

DO NOT accept a position with this company. You are expendable. Expect to be expected to complete twice the amount of work with half the necessary bodies needed. Saving a dollar is more important to this company than the physical and emotional well-being of their employees. Unless your one of the "good ole boys", you have next to zero hope of any upward mobility. The pay is laughable for the amount of work you are expected to do. I am no stranger to hard work and even overtime hours but overtime does not exist in this companies eyes. You are expected to work sometimes 70 hours per week and recieve little in the way of appreciation for basically giving up your personal life. Family emergencies or responsibilities are not valid reasons for working less. Management treats the employees like possesions, talks down to you and shows no respect for the work and effort put forth. Often times the environment is one of sexually inappropriate comments and conversations and in my experience intimidation and threats are the norm. Bottom line, you are expendable. If they can find a cheaper way to do your job without you, they will
