Pros

Great Product. Best in class!!

Cons

Terrible upper level management. Not great training. Not honest. Run this company by intimidating staff. Time for a refresh in thinking loose 35% plus of sales team per year. Why do you think you have a job opportunity. Stay Away!!

Pros

Quality products, excellent benefits, great reputation with customers

Cons

Management is toxic. No praise and it feels like management is working against you instead of with you. It feels like management tries to find or create negatives. Instead of building you up they put you down. Absolutely zero training when you start, then you get in trouble if you make a mistake. We've been told by management that they don't want to hear about a lack of training. And don't bother going to HR, that will just get you fired.

You get out what you put in. Sometimes. Maybe.

Pros

Benefits. Days off and vacation time. Friendly staff for the most part.

Cons

Everything in marketing is done last minute (for no real reason), the company is often at the mercy of Makita Japan when it comes to decision making. Upper management is constantly second-guessing everything and it spills over into every aspect of their marketing. Upper management constantly finds ways (intentionally and unintentionally) to push away or suppress their most talented and resourceful employees, while employees who constantly make mistakes face no consequences for their actions. Chances are you'll be doing someone else's job for them at one point or another. The building is a crowded, dirty mess with mice. Management doesn't want to renovate or move to a newer building. This company does nothing for morale. Don't expect many fun company-wide initiatives or events that most other decent Southern California companies do. Most of the thing Makita does are just cheap lunches that occur once or twice a year. They're really an afterthought. No real opportunities to grow unless you're in sales. Chances are your boss is going to be in their position until they have to be wheelchaired out of the office.
