Pros

You have complete control over which 70 hours you will work in your week. You can build lots of contacts for finding a less stressful job with better training and support and have a company truck to go to job interviews. You will spend 30% of your time learning how to do reports for all of upper management all while driving all over your state to not be able to come close to the competition. Makita is like a parent whose child brings home a 98 on a test and says " with a little more work you could've made a 100". You will never catch your breath here. Move on.

Cons

IC reps do EVERYTHING. You will be given a truck, tools, and a list and 1 day of "training". They will hand you a list of 100+ businesses with company names and address only and you will have to get your own contacts for manager, outside sales, purchasers, endusers and the lot. You will not have Dealer or User information and will be expected to organize, track and report on EVERY LITTLE detail without a tech platform to support you.

Pros

Makita USED to be a well ran company. They ran the good guys off and initiated a military style management.

Cons

Turn over is high and you can't trust ANY one. Management will backstab up in a heart beat. HR is a joke! NO training for new employees. Can't compete against Dewalt, Milwaukee or Bosch. Upper management hires their friends so you better be willing to get along with them. Management takes no accountability and blames everything on you. Run Promotions that you can't compete with the following year and tell you you're doing a terrible job. Will not hesitate to tell you they will fire you if you don't hit your numbers. Regional VP's do nothing and point the finger at you.

Pros

Great Product!!! Bad Marketing department. Can't compete with the red and yellow guys. Need to clean house....... with the Entire Marketing dept and VP's

Cons

Bad Management! It is the "Good Ole Boys Club". ALL of the VP's need to take a few management classes on how to treat their employees, using today's technology and how to recognize talent. Makita will Never grow in the states with the managers they have on the bus. The VP's need to go on a team building retreat as they are constantly fighting and putting the sales people in the middle. GROW UP BOYS!!!
