Pros

As it is always said, the people in this company are what makes this such a great place to work. There is care, honesty, and devotion shown in everything this company achieves. As someone with a history in retail, it was a mind-blowing difference coming from an environment where it felt almost like "employee vs. management", to a company where communication flows naturally from the roots of our corporate/executive teams all the way to the individual leaves of every on-site employee. While there is always room for Mark-Taylor to be better than yesterday, I have never felt more supported, respected, and cared for than I do at this company.

Cons

I personally feel that, while Mark-Taylor has a clear desire to provide a wide range of learning/growth opportunities to their employees, most learning opportunities come from online courses and/or video seminars. As a """"hands-on"""" learner, I sometimes find it difficult to retain the information learned unless there is opportunity to experience it through practice or real world situations. Separately, and in a situation that may be unique to communities with smaller on-site teams, I feel that it can be overwhelmingly difficult to find coverage for things like vacation & sick time. Being that our community's administrative team only consists of myself and our MCO, it is difficult to want to take vacation when I know I will be leaving the office short-handed, or putting our MCO in a position where he is obligated to work overtime because there simply aren't any other employees who are willing to take the drive to our community in Fountain Hills. While I understand that this situation is unique and there is only so much that can be done to encourage teams from other properties to help out, this is something I consider heavily every time I submit a request for time off. I don't have any thoughts on a solution to this currently, though I figure it never hurts to let it be known - in case I am not the only employee that feels this way.

Pros

The balance is better than what I had. Early closing times are nice. More feedback from higher ups beyond reviews. This is great!

Pros

Our culture is top tier... nothing I've ever experienced comes close to it. You have a voice at Mark-Taylor and feedback is always appreciated. I love that we survey our team members and put things into action if we need to make change.

Cons

There should be Senior titles at the AMD and MD level and more options to promote into at the executive level. We put a huge focus on loyalty at Mark-Taylor, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, when people with tenure do not perform at the same level as others with less time at MT, it doesn't always feel motivating.
