The culture isn't what it used to be and morale suffers in some areas. They don't often put their people first, like they say they do. Benefits are pretty good but salaries aren't competitive. Middle management is mediocre. There aren't great growth opportunities for young employees. The company tries to do too many things - deep down they're still a construction company. They have a lot of good people and service offerings, but haven't really figured out how to bring it all together and break down the silos.

While projects , budgets, and schedules are generally managed pretty well, and peak workloads are shared when needed (vs tons of overtime), there are top down issues. The company has really been swayed in recent years by political correctness, the woke corporate consultant industries, and has gotten pretty political, alienation many in tue company. Being a Seattle-led company it’s pretty clear that the leadership is happy to push their views down the line, which distracts the focus of the company and is frankly inappropriate. It’s all in a veil of being inclusive but it actually creates a racist and inequitable workplace by creating a company that makes decisions such as promotions and training opportunities based on optics and some sense of equity instead of merit (this is the very definition of racism, ironically). They pat themselves on the back for all of this, not realizing that they are actually (and ironically) creating a workplace where people can’t achieve their career goals because of the color of their skin.
