Pros

Hire right out of college, if they need people bad enough...

Cons

I see huge bonus incentives in Medpace’s current CRA job listings. This was usually true but in 2020 CRAs worked mostly remote. Bonuses for CRAs are based of how many physical days you are on site monitoring. So we got no credit for any remote visits even though we were doing 2-3x the work. A usual annual bonus of 10-15k were a few hundred to maybe 3k. The company justifies paying their CRAs well below industry standard by making up for it in a large bonus. Not this year. The company made huge gains and profits in 2020 and the CEO could not care less that the CRAs are getting screwed out of money they have come to rely on as part of their below par salary. As usual for this company the more experienced CRAs will leave and the company will continue to struggle getting Sponsor approval for their less experienced CRAs to be on study. If you can work anywhere else in research I would. I expect 2-3 ‘great place to work’ HR “reviews” in response to this one.

We are very taken back by some of your comments regarding the organization. Medpace is proud to be able to provide discretionary bonuses and other incentive rewards in addition to standard salary to employees who meet or exceed performance expectations. We understand it can be very disappointing not to receive a desired bonus. However, minimum eligibility and performance standards apply to all employees here at Medpace and are reviewed during this process. The pandemic has affected the majority of businesses during the last year, and that also needs to be taken into consideration. Our pay is structured off of background (education/industry experience) and performance; the Variable Compensation Program is a travel bonus and is not utilized to make up for salary. The industry standard for a CRA equates to approximately 2 years of experience. We hire in many CRAs with no experience, and find that they are compensated competitively. Please feel free to discuss with your HR representative in more detail. Thank you!

Pros

Learned what "red flags" are, made some friends

Cons

Gossipy managers who play favorites, no trust, micromanaging, and women make less than men. No I am not saying there are less women that work there than men, to whatever HR employee responds to this. The women that work here, despite their experience and qualifications, get paid LESS than men. Just heard about the massive layoffs too. While other company CEOs are taking paycuts, August Troendle and co. want to stay rich during a global pandemic. It speaks to the culture of this place, they only care about money and productivity, not anyone's wellbeing. Please don't waste your time here.

Thank you for leaving a review. We are very taken back and saddened to hear about your experience with Medpace. However, your accusations regarding unequal pay due to gender are offensive and untrue. We consistently work with our Compensation and Benefits team to review salary and benchmarks to assure we are aligned with the market while also being competitive in the industry. Salary is determined by the role being offered and an individual’s educational and employment experience. We highly value all employees and are proud to have women in leadership positions at every level of our organization. In this time of COVID-19, Medpace, like a lot of businesses, has had to make some very difficult decisions. Although we had maintained our full workforce with full pay for the initial weeks of Ohio’s lockdown order, despite the fact that many of our positions cannot be performed if our campus is not open, unfortunately this is not a sustainable long-term option. It was a very difficult decision to release some of our on-campus staff, and we hope that the severance packages offered to them will help in part to sustain during a difficult economic time for everyone. We certainly understand the frustration and anxiety everyone feels in this difficult time and we are confident that by working together we will get through this. We wish you well in your future career.

Pros

The vacation and sick time is generous. However you are allowed to use your entire allotment as of Jan 1. If you use time for maternity leave, you will owe if you leave before the end of the year. Not noted anywhere how time is accrued.

Cons

The work environment is poor. If you are a hard worker you will be overloaded with work and punished if you fail to deliver. Overtime is expected with minimal merit increases and worthless bonuses. Coworkers use one another as scapegoats when things go wrong. The turnover is astronomical. It is clear management doesn't care to retain its employees. No work life balance.
