Pros

Meet great people and make great connections. Learn a lot about how to dress your husband, significant other, or male friends. Reasonable discount on clothing, tuxedo rentals, and alterations Great family atmosphere...especially during the holidays! I still visit!!!

Cons

Some management may be clueless or rude. Depending on your location, room for advancement may be limited or delayed for years! Also, depending on your location, sales may be VERY hard. Not a great job to have if you're in school during holiday schedule and "mandatory" inventory...some management made it impossible for me to take finals.

Pros

The best side to working at the Men's Wearhouse is the "promote-from-within" policy. They told me it was not about time or tenure, but about how hard you worked. How hungry are you? I had some mistakes in my past, and while I was getting turned down right and left for jobs because of stupid things I did when I was a kid, the Men's Wearhouse decided to give me that second chance. And for that I give relentless loyalty and solid work to this company. I got promoted after only 6 months with the company to a position that I would have never dreamed, and I fully believe that a V.P. position is not out of the question for anyone who works for this company.

Cons

As with most retail chains I consider the biggest downside to be working on the weekend. But hey, that's where the moneys at so I'm not too worried about it. Also, maybe the power structure is a bit too lenient at times. I know, it's kind of weird to say it but sometimes management can be too easy-going. It's probably a result of the promote-from-within policy. You have folks who start off at the bottom becoming managers, which can make it hard for them to crack down knowing that the person at the bottom isn't getting paid much. Still, they agreed to the terms and payment of the position. They should do the damn job.
