Pros

Great coworkers, 2 week holiday pay bonus, decent benefits, nice lounge with Nespresso, Pac Man, massage chairs etc. Some inspiring mentors. Your experience here will be defined by what kind of supervisor you get. I enjoyed the work and interacting with colleagues and customers. Mon-Fri only.

Cons

Too much micromanagement. Claims volume goes up and down but hard to manage. Too many activities to complete. Mercury's direction going forward seems to be muddled and unfocused. Company changes direction often. Management is involved in too many meetings and committees especially regarding audit procedures. You are also judged on items that are not included in your yearly evaluation, such as referrals to direct repair facilities. Adjusters receive way too many calls. Calls for deductibles being waived or claim status should be routed to a support unit or to an online app.

Pros

There are None! Beware!! Only accept an offer unless you are absolutely destitute! Job stability is the one pro I can think of.

Cons

Where do I begin? I've wasted my youth here (10 years)! So many years wasted working very hard and for what? The claim volume is astronomically high. Mercury is extremely backwards in everything they approach ie problems/solutions. The branch managers don't have any leadership training whatsoever and it definitely shows. Expectations are high but no reward - where's the incentive? Constant vague and ambiguous threats that you'll be terminated if you don't reduce your GuideWire activities.

Pros

My co-workers were great. That's about all I can think of for the pros side.

Cons

Where do I begin? First, I question the few "good" recent reviews published on this site as being written by anyone other than management trying to get their score increased. I don't know of anyone in any position across the board who is happy there right now. Mercury used to be a good company to work for. In the past 2-3 years it's gone downhill fast. People are over worked, super stressed, unappreciated, underpaid and literally everyone hates being there. Upper management couldn't care less about their employees. The raises are laughable and the bonuses are less and less year after year. I've seen 3 major layoffs and only stayed as long as I did hoping to get laid off myself so I could get a nice severance and then be on my way. HC is a joke-- implementing huddle cards and high 5's as a way to reward adults--it's offensive. I send my condolences to George Joseph in regards to the way a company he worked hard to build has been run into the ground.
