Pros

Stable income, lots of work to do, odd corporate "wellness" and ok benefits

Cons

> no management structure > nobody treats coworkers like they work together, its all a competition and nobody has time to speak to eachother > no guidance from upper management > Brea branch has no structure for complaints > fire you for giving two weeks, so im afraid to give mine , seen it happen to so many others its just not worth it. You are a number in a machine to them, they do not care about their employees > they give no real reward or promotion structure

Pros

Work/life balance, paid training, weekends off

Cons

Pay is hourly and the workload cannot be complete in 40 hours. Overtime needs to be requested in order to finish work for the day. Request don’t always get approved and adjusters end up falling behind. Mercury is more concerned about saving money than servicing their customers during a stressful time. Customers get frustrated and take it out on the adjusters. Falling behind leads to not meeting the company standards as well and if you don’t meet the standards you can potentially not get a raise. Adjusters get frustrated because the company is preventing them from being successful. This leads to a high turnover rate leaving branches understaffed and unhappy employees need to always pick up the extra slack on top of already being behind. Not much growth in the company- people stay stuck in the same position for years without opportunities for promotion.

Pros

Co-workers are cool. Benefits are decent. Christmas bonus every year. Overtime is available if needed.

Cons

We are overworked. Claims assignments are too high and company expectations are completely unrealistic. Too much work and not enough tools to get the work done. Every department is understaffed and the claims adjuster takes the fall for all the other departments not being able to stay caught up. People leave to work for other Companies because they pay more than Mercury. We have Managers that don't care and Divisional Managers who are so far away from the claims job that they keep coming up with more work for all the Supervisors to do. Then your Supervisor can't do their job or provide help for the adjusters. Guidewire is so slow it actually is worse than the prior claims system, and has lowered productivity. The ship is taking on too much water.
