Pros

Salary and paid time off was good. Ability to self schedule made home life easier. There are opportunities to transfer to other departments within the hospital.

Cons

The company went from being patient/employee centered to be money centered. There is no room for growth. You are basically valued as a warm body.

Pros

I have a good schedule, I don't pay to park

Cons

Mercy Health has CNN consistently offered horrible medical benefits for its employees. I have been in medical debt due to the benefits offered by Mercy. I always pick the top tier plan due to my health problems. I would gladly pay more for better insurance. The rate of PTO accrual is atrocious!!!! I've been there for 20 yrs and only accrue 8 hrs per pay check

Decent benefits, horrific culture

Pros

- Time off benefits for salaried employees is strong - Home Office leadership is strong

Cons

- The Springfield region, specifically the hospital, has absolutely horrible leadership and the culture is simply toxic. The current executive leadership for the region has no clue what to do. The COO has a marketing background and absolutely zero operational experience, which is clearly felt by the organization. Leadership would prefer to push people who disagree out of the organization rather than deal with reality. Turnover is extremely high and HR leadership would rather take the side of management instead of ever advocating for employees. Managers and executives are more concerned with preserving and advancing their own careers than with developing those they lead. I would highly recommend that you stay away from this organization. It will stress you out and management will never have your back.
